About this animal

The Blue Poison Dart Frog (Dendrobates tinctorius azureus) is a jewel of the amphibian world. Wild-caught individuals harbor potent skin toxins derived from their insect diet, but captive-bred specimens raised on fruit flies are completely non-toxic. Their vivid coloration serves as aposematic warning to predators. Diurnal and active, they are rewarding display animals in bioactive vivariums.

Intermediate level: Some prior experience recommended.
